Personal Review: Samsung Galaxy S7

Salam. Today, I decided to post a review of Samsung Galaxy S7. Since I've been using it for a month now, I think it is only fitting that I make a verdict of the phone. First of all, this is not a sponsored post. I personally own the phone and would just want to share my personal experience with it. I have been using it as my daily driver since the day I bought it.
When I was looking for a new phone, I was in the verge of confusion. There were three phones that caught my eye at first: Apple iPhone 6s, Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. It was the hardest decision to make since (DUH!!!) I am buying it out of my savings. However, I really needed a phone since my most beloved Xiaomi isn't selling its latest Mi5 in the Ph. Such a shame! Anyway, I had no choice but to choose among these high-end phones.
My criteria for choosing a phone:
- Bigger RAM since I do most of the photo editing for blog, instagram, etc on the phone. And I mostly keep all apps running simultaneously. (But I don't do gaming!)
- Bigger ROM since I need it for my photos, videos, and apps. (Expandable ROM was a huge thing!)
- Great front and rear cameras! (Need I say more?)
- Durability.
- Design should be on fleek but does not look like it is a really expensive phone. (If you know what I mean tho haha)
- Longer battery life! (What happened to iPhone 6s, btw? Such a deal breaker.)
- More secured/fingerprint scanner.
- Amazing display!!!
It was a hard task to choose. At first, I really wanted the iPhone 6s. But I cannot handle the 16gb memory (then next one is 64. what the?! Do they even know that most phones now starts at 32 gb?) and the 1750 MAH battery. I wanted to get the Rose Gold one. Then I stopped my fascination.
Then here's the LG G5 that answers my need of battery life with changeable batteries (or you can add more by adding what they called 'Friends'). Of course, it looked hella great with that wide angle camera and the expandable memory and so on. Then again, it is not dust-proof, waterproof, etc. Of course, I also had to wait for a month or so for it to be launched in the Ph. So, it was a no-no!
Thus, Samsung saves the day! Everywhere you go in the Philippines, there is probably a Samsung store somewhere. Moreover, S7 ticked everything in my criteria. 4gb RAM, 32 gb ROM (expandable to 200gb!!!), hella amazing front and rear cam with extra fast focus function, dust-proof, waterproof, comes in Gold, 3000 MAH battery, Super AMOLED display and has finger print scanner. Everything else that is great about S7 is just bonus.

Per my usage of Samsung Galaxy S7, I have not yet experienced lag time or the phone hanging. The multi-tasking screen is superb! I loved the always-on display. And the photos are all so amazing. Like, the focus function is really amazing. It is a great decision that Samsung downsized the megapixels of the S7 to accommodate more detail into the photos! It does really well in low light. I am using my phone on almost every photo on my instagram.
Here are some of the unedited photos taken by my phone:
I am so sorry I cannot post a video sample as my internet here in Tawi-Tawi is not superb. I had to spend a few hours on this post alone because of the slow internet connection. Uploading the photos took a lot longer.
Anyway, I love my Samsung Galaxy S7. I haven't had any issues with it. In sha Allah, it will serve me longer and better in the days to come. I didn't regret my decision of having it. ;) I will be trying to submerge it in water if I have time. I will update this post once I have done that. ^^
I will leave it here! Salam!
Nice review Kai!
ReplyDeleteYeah heard great things about the camera and I def loved the cameras on my first two smartphones (Samsung Infuse and Samsung S4). They were ahead of Apple as faras the HD video. Yes, the multitasking is one of my fav features. As you may recall, I recently got the Nexus 6P - not cheap, as I had to pay for the full price of the phone (had phones on contract before, though that seems to be going away now altogether)
I know there may not be use for it at the moment, but it shoots 4K video, which is pretty cool, though given the file size, can't be too long (the Nexus does as well). I'm glad that with Android N, the Nexus will be getting split screen / multitasking too, so that was one reason I was even more excited with switching to pure Android with Google Nexus.
Anyways, glad you are enjoying the new phones and the photos do look great.
I went to the California coast this long weekend and got to try out the camera properly for the first time and it worked well.
OK, I'll stop rambling.
samsung S7 is very good camera but budget is not good for my poket heee gaya modern
