Things to Do in Summer

The summer months are in full swing. During these months, the days are filled with pool visits, barbeques and fireworks. It's such a perfect time to connect with family members and have a great time. If you're in a position where you don't have a lot of family members or friends, it can feel pretty lonely. However, there are ways around that. It's up to you to be intentional about doing things to have fun and enjoy your life. Consider these four options to help you get started this summer.

1. Staycation
If you don't have the funds to go out of town just yet, consider a staycation instead. Book a room in a nice hotel. Order room service and connect to the WiFi. Put your feet up and relax for a full 24 hours.

2. Hair Color
The summertime is the perfect time to switch up your hair color. If you're naturally blonde, try a different color like auburn. If you're a redhead, try a sassy cut with blonde highlights. If you're considered about the harsh impact of bleach, consider an all natural hair color instead. Still, it's important to remember that you must always deep condition and regularly moisturize your hair. Once it's color treated, the hair becomes prone to breakage. If you apply a consistent deep conditioning treatment, you won't run into those issues.

3. Pedicures
If you're not used to pampering yourself, start with pedicures. Pedicures are relatively inexpensive. Depending on the salon you go to, you can get a basic pedicure for anything between $20 and $30. You can do this once or twice a month. The more you get into the habit of doing small things to take care of yourself, the better you'll feel.

4. Meet-ups
It's always nice to make new friends. It's important to become intentional about getting out there to connect with others. Join online community boards and find out about networking events in your area. Whether you're a lover of basketball or entrepreneurship, there's a niche group for everyone. As you get around like-minded people, you'll develop strong relationships that can easily serve as the highlight of your summer.
